About to start choosing a secondary school for your child but confused about the difference between a Free School and an Academy? No idea what to ask during an open evening? Want to know what a teacher looks for in league table data and Ofsted reports?
If so, you are not alone! The school system is complex and confusing. This makes the process of choosing a secondary school for your child a stressful experience for you and your family. I want to help.
Usually, I deliver sessions in schools, but this month, I am running an online session to help you navigate the secondary school system.
At the end of the session you will:
- Understand all of the different schools (free schools, academies, LA schools etc.) and the pros and cons of each. You will learn about the benefits and drawbacks of big schools vs small schools, single-sex schools and selective schools. After the session, I will send you a factsheet which summarises the information
- Understand how to use league table data, Ofsted reports and other published (but often, not used!) information. This will help you to ask great questions during school visits. After the session, I will send you a research action plan to focus your search and save you time!
- Understand more about the type of education you want for your child
- Be invited into a private Facebook group so that I can continue to support you after the session
- Feel confident and in control!
